Unpardonable Sin...

In my Theo class last week, the question came up what the "unpardonable sin" was mentioned in 2Ki 24:4; Mat 12:31,32; Luk 12:10; Hbr 6:4-6; 1Jo 5:16. Being the catholic class that it was, then mentioned "not chosinge God and his forgiveness of our sins" is the unpardonable sin. Matthew 12:31: All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men.

This scripture says nothing about not accepting forgivness. Blasphemy is "blas’-fe-mi (blasphemia): In classical Greek meant primarily "defamation" or "evil-speaking" in general; "a word of evil omen," hence, "impious, and irreverent speech against God."

What is the deal? Any ideas??

Give me a a few hours and I will be back to return to this question...I have always had it told to me the same thing...but we have to look at the context of the scripture and go with what we know. More on that later.

Hey Kirby,
I remember when I was trying to get out of the occult and had wondered if I had blasphemed the Holy Ghost because I felt so lost, and having been a Christian and filled with the Holy Spirit, I had still been deceived into a lie because of my selfish desire for power and answers, having participated in some pretty perverse activities. Then I heard someone on the radio mention the fact that if you are worried about it then their is no way that you could have done it. The person who would do such a thing would have no remorse or regret. Their heart has grown so cold and wicked that the very thought of a loving god is repulsive. Satan and his demons have commited this sin and they will be cast into the Lake of Fire some day.
